This six-story, 120-key hotel is designed to infill the urban property adjacent to an historic building. The west elevation establishes the storefront character and streetscape. The rhythm of the storefronts and concrete columns harmoniously extend the pattern of the adjacent building. An urban pedestrian ‘alley’ is established along the north edge to create direct access to the hotel’s rooftop bar for non-guests. This space will include decorative paving and festival lighting to securely greet guests choosing to visit the top of the building.
A three-story brick base creates a material and scale consistent with its neighbor. The eyebrow over the storefront ties the brick and more modern wall panels into a blended composition. Oversized, perforated-metal vertical fins serve as sun shades and offer brand identity. The north elevation holds meeting rooms and provides identity and entry off of this busy street.
